The Association of University Research Parks (AURP) is seeking a qualified candidate to lead the organization as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CEO will develop and execute a forward-thinking vision for the future of the AURP that reflects the marketplace, the future of research parks globally and the needs of AURP membership.
The CEO’s responsibilities include day-to-day operations of the AURP and leadership to the Board in developing member services and education, conference planning and administration, attracting and retaining members and sponsors, expanding the scope of the organization as trends emerge, promoting and marketing the organization, ensuring the organization has a voice in Washington, DC, along with other similar responsibilities.
The successful candidate for CEO will possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and an advanced degree is preferable. The CEO should have experience in management of a successful university research park or similar non-profit organization, sponsorship and fundraising experience, familiarity with economic development activities and issues affecting universities, knowledge of and / or a prior relationship with AURP, familiarity with science, technology, and entrepreneurship, and the ability to manage a virtual team, along with other qualities consistent with being an effective leader in this field.
