I’m a full-time freelance writer and author. My book about fluid dynamics and scale model testing for Springer Verlag, Modeling Ships and Space Craft: The Science and Art of Mastering the Oceans and Sky, will be out next month. I blog about science and technology at Synthesis, and I’m a member of the National Association of Science Writers, the D.C. Science Writers Association, and the American Society of Journalists and Authors.

I recently became a member of the BioBuzz blog team because biotechnology in general, and biofuels in particular, are of great interest to me. As I prepared my inaugural post on biofuels, I quickly discovered there was far more to the topic than the science at work. Because of that, my first posts will comprise a series on biofuels. In this series, I’ll cover the following topics, updating the links as each is posted:

  • Terminology
  • Key Concepts
  • Key Technology
  • Why Biofuels?
  • Alternatives to Biofuels
  • Biofuel Pros & Cons
  • Current State of Technology
  • Near Future Technology
  • Technology on the Horizon
  • Economics – Potential Market $$
  • Economics – Competing Solutions
  • Major Players
  • Major Researchers
  • Patents Involved

I’ll also be interviewing several biofuel experts to profile for you in future posts.  I look forward to sharing with you and I’d appreciate your feedback in the form of comments or a message to GinaBioBuzz.
